winter and spring months were characterised by occasional rainy and sunny days, providing a cool and damp climate during spring time. The season progressed with a quite hot and dry summer and a significant diurnal temperature variation starting from August. Phenolic ripening of the grapes allowed an excellent colour extraction with smooth and elegant tannins.
